when to file DS 160 form

I received the k1 approval yesterday. I'm filing for the country of Jordan. my question is can I just go ahead and submit the ds 160 form now and pay the fees, etc? I really don't want to have to wait for a generic letter to come and tell me to fill it out when i can save time and do it now. Anyone know of any negative consequences that can happen by doing it now? anyone familiar with the process in Jordan ? thanks

At what point is your process?

you say approved   USCIS only approves all paperwork is there

are u in NVC?

or you are scheduled for interview

the only real approval is done by CO at interview

It's been handed over to  the NVC

You can start to fill out the DS-160 at any time, and you can save your progress as you go along. You will need your case number from the NVC to submit however, something you should wait to do until your embassy has your file. There's no harm in starting now though, and just going back and adding the things you need to once you're instructed to fill it in by your embassy.

It asks me for the recipet # from the uscis on the ds160 not anything from the NVC

Well then you can just put that in, or even just fill it with 0's..it doesn't matter as you can go back and edit it before you submit.
