SEATTLE -- A Mexican man who has spent more than six weeks in immigration detention despite his participation in a program designed to protect those brought to the U.S. illegally as children can be released from custody pending his deportation proceedings, an immigration judge ruled Tuesday.

Lawyers for Daniel Ramirez Medina, 24, told The Associated Press they expect him to be released as soon as Wednesday following the decision by Judge John Odell in Tacoma.

Ramirez spent 40 minutes answering questions from prosecutors during a two-hour hearing Tuesday, and he repeatedly and credibly denied having any connections with gangs, attorney Mark Rosenbaum said.

“He answered every question the government put to him,” Rosenbaum said. “He stayed true, and the government had no evidence whatsoever.”

ICE is claiming that they "mistook" his tattoo for a gang tattoo.  I anticipate either a huge lawsuit or some major crow eating of ICE agents.

Ridding of DACA is one of the promises that will need to be kept if Trump wants my vote in 2020. I'm a little suspicious as to why he hasn't done it already.

I'm not.  I don't believe that he's going to anytime soon.  I genuinely believe he's going to weed out the ones who have records and allow the ones who currently have it a path to citizenship eventually.  At that point he will cut off the program.

Makes sense.. we'll see how that all pans out.

I'm too lazy at the moment to go back, but I believe he said "all unconstitutional orders by Obama" repealed on day one.  He could easily argue that it's not unconstitutional.  Many see this one as the biggie but honestly, had I voted for him I'd be more concerned about the Obamacare repeal and replacing.  It just depends on if you're a one issue voter.  I have people on my friends list convinced abortion will be illegal within the next term.  Not on their lives.

Day one...promises were made. Health care, build a wall, repeal and replace, Muslims to extreme vette...but all those extra inaugural guests would not go home!

Well, I'm a bit more realistic about what can actually be done by a President.

Anything that can be done by EO or directive I expect to be done asap.

When it comes to Obamacare it's law so he's completely at the behest of Congress, even though his very first EO he signed inauguration day dealt with softening up Obamacare. But I don't believe he ever had a "replace" plan, just "get rid of the #######". As for other EO's and promises:

- EO starting construction of the border wall. Need Congress for complete funding though, or deferred funds like Bush did with SS (OASDI) surplus toward funding Iraq. Fulfilled the promise on the wall as far as what he can do by himself.

- Make Mexico pay for it.. this one I doubt, but will also wait and see. Not even a big deal to me.

- EO making good on a promise to devote full funds toward enforcing immigration laws and hiring more border patrol agents.

- EO making good on a promise to withhold funds from sanctuary cities.. Sessions reiterated it this week and has the go-ahead.

- EO making good on a promise to go forward with Keystone XL and other energy projects delayed under Obama. Not only helps the US but Canada significantly.

- Numerous EO's on travel bans.. while the latest has been sticking around and will ultimately be upheld by SCOTUS when Gorsuch gets in, the efforts at restricting immigrants as promised are good enough for me.

- EO regarding lobbying and ethics ban post-federal service.. another campaign promise fulfilled.

- EO Dismantling regulations added on top of Dodd-Frank.. campaign promise.

- EO instructing agencies when adding one regulation to remove two others.. another campaign promise.

- EO instructing SOD (Mattis) to draft up a plan in 30 days to defeat ISIS.. promise partially fulfilled.

- Directive that US will withdraw from TPP.. another campaign promise.

He's already fulfilled most promises he made on the trail. A few more like DACA and he might get my 2020 vote.

He really has not done anything that stuck...but its early.

The question is he promised repeal and replace...where is his replace plan?
