Hello guys! My fiance and I have been planning to apply for K1 visa. He is an American and I am a Filipina. He resigned from his former company last January of this year (2017) and had his one month vacation last month (February). Now, he's back in Illinois and is busy looking at jobs that fit his past experiences. He's hoping to land a new job in a month or so. He's also thinking that maybe it's best for him to file the I-129F form since he has a good standing on his savings and checking accounts but is currently unemployed. We don't want our visa application to be denied in the future. What are your thoughts about our situation, guys? Enlighten us, please.

From what i have read, they are going to ask at the interview how he can currently support you.   So I would assume if you file now and he gets a job before the interview date it would be ok.  Do his previous W-2s meet the minimum requirements?

He can file now. USCIS doesn't care for the I-129F petition. It's the actual K-1 Visa where that becomes relevant.
