How long between I785 Approval and I485 Visa?

Hey everyone!

 

I just have a quick question for those of you who may have recently gone through the same stages as me ( just received my approval for my work authorization) and wondered how long you waited for the Adjustment of Status Approval I485 after that to be able to travel in and out of the US?

Did you not apply for AP? It usually comes as a combo card with the EAD? 

 

Other wise no no one can tell you. Some wait only a couple of months while others wiat a year or more.

Thanks Georgia, sorry to ask but what is an AP? I am waiting for my EAD card to come through the post so I'm not sure if it is just for work or travel authorization.

did you submit I-131 application? That's for Advanced Parole - allows you to travel while your i-485 petition is pending.

If you haven't, you can still submit it but it'll take another 3 months or so to receive your AP card.

Ah of course sorry I get it now, AP for Advance Parole, no I didn't submit the I-131 so I guess I'll just be waiting it out

Then I would submit it now it's free with pending AOS.

if you apply now, it may still come earlier than your i-485. Although I was lucky and got my green card (+interview) about a month after EAD/AP. (not so for Georgia16 as you can see)
