Hi.   I have decided to apply for citizenship.   My current concern is with the timing of key dates (interview etc) since I will be gone on vacation for 3 weeks starting mid May.   If I mail out my N-400 this week, how likely would I have a conflict since I wont be available last half of May into June?   What is the current timing for key N-400 milestones where I need to make myself available?  The May trip is already booked but I may have another 2 weeks planned for September.   All advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Sly

Your best bet is to look at other filers timeline from your area on this forum. Just be aware that everybody and every ASC location is different.

Highly unlikely unless you reside within the jurisdiction of one of the least backlogged field offices. What's your local field office?

By your county. https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices/new-york

Note though in VT, Saint Albans field office also serves some of the Upstate towns.

If you are in the city, wait is long. 100% guaranteed you will not get your interview before your June trip. Some of the upstate offices used to be fast 2.5-3 months wait, not sure what's the latest for them. Once you found your field office, try to find people from that field office and follow their timelines.
