I don't know what happened here? I am in shock and a little intoxicated. My wife went for a bike ride this morning at 9:30am and never came back. All she took was her money, jewels and passport. I received an email from her cousin in the Philippines 8 hours later that said my wife is safe and for me to move on with my life. I am in shock. I married her in the Phils 18 months ago, she was here 1 day short of two months and she is gone. Day after day she said she was depressed and homesick. The only disagreement we had was yesterday. It was about her $1028.00 cell phone bill where she had been calling the Philippines at $3.00 a minute instead of using our landline international service.

I don't know if I have been used or what. I am just in shock and have nobody to talk with.

Glenn

If you will have a way to talk to her, do so. It will be better for both of you to personally talk about your problems and misunderstandings. Maybe she just need some time for herself and think. Hopefully you can still work on your marriage and patch things up. It is sad and disheartening to think that she planned it, but she seemed prepared because she took what is necessary (money and passport). Of course she could not bring her clothes and other stuffs or else you will notice it. She knows her way around because she knows where to go to and hide from you. Maybe she needs time and space. I hope and pray she gets enlightened and do the right thing for both of you, your marriage. But still, it will be better to talk about it and be open. For her to tell you what she wants, her intentions so you can move one and will not be at a lost thinking what could have gone wrong. Try not to blame yourself or her or anyone, find the truth. Be strong and pray for guidance.

Glenn, it has been more that 24 hours and hopefully Rose has made some kind of contact with you. If not, you at least need to report her as missing to the local authorities unless you have complete confidence in the information her cousin is passing you. Filipinas keep a lot of thing bottled up inside and do not tell you the smallest things that bother them or that they disagree with. You have to work at it and basically find a way to make them open up to you with fear of you getting mad at them.

There are other options other than the cell phone (which I do not believe is the issue), like th einternational calling rate, yahoo chat on cam, chikka, yahoo SMS text, calling cards....ect. Everyone gets home sick the first time they leave home but keeping them busy and introducing them to your friends and her making friends always helps. There are a few VJ members right here in Honolulu that we made a point of looking up so the girls had someone to talk to when we are at work.

There are always 3 sides to every story, yours, hers and the ground truth in the middle somewhere. Hopefully you two can talk and at least figure this out. Her leaving you, from the information you have posted, does not sound like the most mature thing to do. You need to at least find her so you can talk to her and the first step is reporting her missing. Good luck, Ken & Maria

Glen,

I hope you and your wife reconcile your differences.

The least she could do is call, and you both could talk about your differences.

I hope things work out.

I'MMM BAAAAACK!

Wow sorry to impose on Gelnn's problem/thread and my heart and prayers go out to you Glenn.

I think I finally got a joint-sponsor to finish up my wifes's visa stuff. Wow! What a journey/nightmare the last 2 weeks have been.... more on that later.

I have a question about Alien # on the I-864.

Lorna has never had an alien # and I just wanted to make sure she still does not have one.

We got all the way to the inteview with her CR-1 before being put on AR so I'm asking you folks if she has been given an alien # somewhere along the process.

Since she is not an alien yet, I assume she doesn't have this # yet until she actually becomes an alien.

Any thoughts? I really want to make sure we get the joint-sponsor's I-864 correct at this point. :-)

Thanks for all your help and prayers.... and God bless you all!

I am so sorry to hear that Glenn.

I am also going through a difficult time right now. I was visiting with a childhood friend from the Phils. yesterday when I got the call that my mom was rushed to the hospital. After a couple of hours, got the most devastating news of all. My mom didn't make it. I am trying to make arrangements to go back to the Phils as soon as I can book a flight.

I do have some questions... I know I need to book the ticket in my maiden name as that's what's in my passport. But on the return trip, will I have a problem checking in (for the flight from the Philippines and clearing immigration here) with my passport and my greencard having different names?

Any info would be great (especially from the old timers here who still drop by every now and then). I'm sorry to dampen the happy atmosphere here but I didn't know which forum to post this.

The A# was listed on our NOA1. From what I understand this will be the same number that will be on her green card when we get it after AOS.

I feel sad reading about the trials that Glenn and sillygirl are currently going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Sillygirl, please accept my heartfelt and deepest condolences. I hope you are comforted by the thought that your Mom now resides with God in heaven.

Glenn, I am still in disbelief at what I read. If you can make contact with Rosemarie's cousin, ask her if she can request Rosemarie to call you or to write you an email so she can explain herself. It's the least Rosemarie can do. Although we can only hope and pray for Rosemarie to come to her senses, you may also have to prepare yourself for any possibility.

Be strong and keep the faith Glenn and sillygirl.

Dean, we are happy to know that Gra has enough time to make it to her interview inspite of the additional test.

Maybe for our future members, especially the beneficiary, it is best to be upfront with your petitioner about any past medical issues. If there is history of TB, go to a doctor right away and have an x-ray taken. In case it turns out positive, you can undergo treatment for 6 months while waiting for the petition to go through its normal process. By the time you are scheduled for your St. Lukes medical, (and it is suggested to take take this a month earlier than actual schedule), any medical issues you may have had would have been resolved by then.

Hmm i would quote but i am forum challenged. Well I visted my sweety April 2006, so it has been a year since I seen her. I did not know that 2 or visits where needed to satisfy the requirements till now. Also I was trying to get the TSA job and now I have it, so I will make the income requirements for sure. One problem of having a big filipino community here, alot of them don't know K1 visa's here. Everybody comes as here as family visas. So the new problem is i might not be able to visit her, before her interview. I filed the packett already. I just will pray I have not evidence for the first part. Well nothing I can do now but pray and wait.

Psoas, one visit is enough to get your petition approved at USCIS. Others have been approved at embassy level with only one visit, however, it would make it easier for your fiancée to convince a ConOff about the bona fides of your relationship if you visit her more than once. Two or more visits are desirable but not a requirement.

I replied with updated info regarding our case but I don't see it in the running list. It's in the old thread but everything is in my sig.

Your K3 timeline is updated. Do you have any new development on CR? I may have missed reading your update. Please let me know if I missed anything.

Lorna's assigned Alien Number is in the NOA1 and NOA2. It is written on top of the beneficiary's name (Lorna's name). It looks something like this A123 456 789

I do have some questions... I know I need to book the ticket in my maiden name as that's what's in my passport. But on the return trip, will I have a problem checking in (for the flight from the Philippines and clearing immigration here) with my passport and my greencard having different names?

From other posts I've read (not Manila), you need to bring a copy of your marriage contract so you can show them in case of questions.

Updating list to welcome AnneiyandJacky!
