hey everyone, can you please help me...........i am 23 yrs old  born in Jamaica came to the state on IR5 VISA January 2008 and i want to obtain my certificate of citizenship.basically i am a citizen through my father. what documents ,form and etc i need to file for citizenship ?

Timeline

For CoC, you need proof that you were under 18, a green card holder and in the legal custody of your father.

 

This is what I'm going to send for my oldest daughter. 

 

1. Mother's CoN

2. Daughter's Birth Cert (with translation - original is in spanish)

3. Mother's Marriage Cert

4. Tax Returns

5. Daughter's School records

6. Daughter's - copy of Green Card

7. Daughter's - copy passport, letter from DoS as to why they kept the GC and explanation that we applied for her passport. (yes we applied for her passport prior to getting the CoC)

8. And the most painful item on the list, the check for $1,200 (OUCH!!!)

 

Most importantly read the instructions carefully to gather all the evidence, only send copies.
