Hello guys.

I am currently a LPR and now waiting to get my Naturalization interview to get my citizenship. I have file I-130 for my spouse and currently waiting in priority date ( we do not have children)

I was told I can upgrade the petition once I become U.S citizen.

Does anyone have experiences about this situation? I want to know what's the step by step what to do after I get the U.S passport. I checked online and found no article to really explain this process.

What do I need to do right now in between the waiting. and How long do I need to wait to unite with my wife?

Thanks for your help and time. really appreciated it.

what is your PD ? once you become a U.S citizen  you will have mail a copy of your citizenship certificate to NVC and request a upgrade on your case. it can take between 6 to 8 weeks for the upgrade. also when you send the citizenship certificate make  sure you send a letter woth you case number.

The PD is March ,7, 2016.

for the letter with my case number, should I just send the I-797 that I got from USCIS?

Yes, The I-130 has been approved already on July 1st,2016.

but the thing is I'm not a citizen yet, So I need to wait for my citizenship process to finish and then start upgrading the petition. is that correct?

In the mean time, there's nothing I could do right?

After they approve the petition upgrade, does my wife get the interview right away or does she still needs to wait?

She will still need to wait for an interview.  It will just happen sooner than it would've had you not naturalized.
