Confusion over I-864 Coversheet Barcode?

Hello,

 

 

I am completing the I-864 form for the K1 Visa process. I have come across information saying I need a barcode included on the form. I do not understand what barcode this refers to. My finance has a barcode on his DS-160 printed out confirmation page - is that what is referred to? There is also an approved tag with a barcode on the front cover of the I129 that we submitted previously. Can anyone shed light on this?

When you get the form online and open it from your downloaded files it will generate a version without 2D barcode (which is supposed to be at the bottom). You'll have to download the form completely (not just open in browser) then open Adobe reader (i know this one works) and then open the downloaded file from within Adobe "open".

Okay, we are looking at the i-134 now. We are being sponsered by my grandparents and the instructions seem to want current employment information. We currently have all the information for penions etc that we got mistakenly for the i864 and they far exceed the poverty line. Does that mean they can simply state they are retired on the form and list their pension income along with irs transcripts as supporting evidence?

It helps if you fill in your member information.. What consulate are you going through? Some don't allow co-sponsors for K1 visa. Assuming yours does though, just fill in the form as per instructions. You need one for you and one for the co-sponsor I believe.

Yes, this counts as income :)

 

There are a number of experienced UK K1-filers on here, I think it would be a good idea to ask in the UK subforum about the i-134 requirements specific for the London embassy :)
