So I couldn't find anything about it on here, I've called the number here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/ which has the "scheduling the appointment" menu which brings up the number to call and times they are open, which I have now called several times over the space of a couple of days only to have the answer "the office is now closed" even though I'm calling way within their open times, I have also tried calling the actual embassy too which just takes me through a bunch of automated menus that have nothing to do with my cause. Is there some other number I need to call or is it just a case of getting them at the right time? Thanks.

It's the holiday season, I imagine that people are taking time off etc. Wait until the new year and then try getting things done.

Have you looked at this website and called the number there? http://www.visamedicals.info/us.asp

To be fair as I understand it, one location is supposedly closed over the holiday period, but I should think they would have persons available to set up appointments. Knightsbridge has two locations. One at Betinick (the normal and usual location the number is for http://www.visamedicals.info/us.asp) and the other location (rarely used) at Basil Street is currently handling the overflow from the holiday period (http://www.knightsbridge-doctors.com/). Keep trying the number, but if you cannot get through I suspect they elected to not leave a message about this information. You could wait until after the start of the new year. I know the Basil Street location is seeing patients today that were previously set up for appointments.

As for the embassy there is nothing they can help you with regarding the medical process. After your medical is completed and fees for the visa are paid, the embassy appointment can now be set up online.

Also take a look at this thread to review over the entire London process and ensure you're ready to set up your medical and everything else that follows. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide-do-not-post-questions-in-thread/ Setting up the embassy appointment via online is a new feature, which won't be reflected in the thread, but the medical information is all pretty much the same.

Both numbers were bringing up the 'office is now closed' message when I attempted to call them yesterday when I was in London trying to find their office for my medical that was booked for that day, you can imagine my state of mind when the message said 'office is closed'

You might have more luck emailing them, they're typically quick to reply.
