I just received the NVC and case number in the mail today. It is dated 12/20. Now I just have to wait for her to be notified my the embassy in Manila, right? Approx how long should that take?

Once you have the MNL Case Number, she can start with scheduling the medical, interview (DS Forms) - there's no need for her to wait for the Embassy to contact her.

Good luck :)

Don't wait for the embassy notification because you could be waiting for a very long time. Instead, go ahead and pay the visa application fee, schedule an embassy interview, and complete the medical.

Well, I am gonna have to wait a minute until I get my tax return. All of the fees, plus hotels, plus plane tickets, etc etc etc isn't going to be cheap. If I could, I would have done it all last week when I received the NVC. I work for the State, so we generally get our W2, and subsequent return, very quickly.
