Check with your fiance if he received any. The lady from USEM said it could be me or my fiance who will receive the Packet 3. In our case, I didn't receive it but my fiance did, he then forwarded it to me. the subject line of their email to him is the case number that starts with ABD. Nope, I did not submit anything prior to the interview date. My interview is set on the 25th of January. Maybe your fiance got it, have him check his spam or junk folder. :) Everybody should be receiving that Packet 3 but not all Consulate requires that to be received first before scheduling the interview. Like in the Philippines, once the case status changes from In Transit to Ready, they can go ahead and schedule it and pay Visa Fee without receiving the Packet 3. They will still get it, but they don't have to wait for it before scheduling. in the UAE, it is different. You have to wait for the packet 3 first before setting up the schedule for interview and medical. 4 times I called them and 4 times that the same information has been given to me. I also verified the same info with other K1 applicants who already got approved. You can take the risk and go on with it but as I said, an incident already happened wherein a lady was denied entry even if she has an appointment for interview as her papers are not yet in the Consulate of Abu Dhabi.

once you hear the IVR, press 1, then once she starts talking again, press 3, then let the IVR talk again then press 6. You should be redirected to the K1 visa overview. Let the IVR finish talking and at the end of her "speech", the IVR will tell you to press a number if you want to speak to a representative. :)

best of luck.

hello everyone.

Im in a similar situation and opted to just post on this thread rather than start a new one.

I plan to leave my current job in Bahrain by April. My US citizen bf just proposed and plan to start filing for the K1 since we both want to do it the right way.

We dont know the intricacies of the process yet, so id like to ask how long it took from initial filing of I-129F to receipt of notice. If we file now (January) and since I am currently in Bahrain and will only be in the Philippines in April, we would like to make sure that by the time I am required to do my medicals and interview, that I will be available to do so back home.

I also would like to ask if its possible to process my visa and go for an interview in the US? I have a tourist visa and another option is for me to go back to New York and spend time with him while we process the K1 visa

Thanks everyone

Hello JnD7685. It is actually a case to case basis and I cannot answer for those who had their visas processed in the Philippines. In our case, we sent the packet on the 23rd of September and we got an e-mail from the USCIS confirming they received the packet on the 28th of September. That's the NOA1. Along with that e-mail is the receipt number that we used to check the status of our case in the USCIS website. Apart from the e-mailed NOA1, we also got the written NOA1 on the 5th of October. We checked religiously everyday and on the 21st of October, our case has been approved. That's the NOA2. My fiance also got the written NOA2 on the 28th of October. We waited for 10working days and started calling NVC for our Case # but we only got it in Nov 17. Once we got the case #, I kept on checking the status of the case at the CEAC status tracker website, it was At NVC until Nov 19 when it changed to In Transit and finally Ready on the 26th of November. But we were not able to do anything until we received the Packet 3 which we got on the 22nd of December thru email. I then filled out the DS-160 form, scheduled the interview and medical. Medical was last January 7th ans interview on the 25th. So it has been almost 4months from the date of filing until the interview date. Some are still waiting for the NOA2 when they filed a month and a half before us. It really depends, if there is any document lacking on the packet you sent, your case will be under RFE which might delay the case for a month or so depending on how quick you are able to provide what is lacking. It is really a tedious process and requires every bit of patience you and your fiance have. :)

I had my interview in Abu Dhabi and the consular slip me with Pamplets abt legal right and a white sheet of paper with instruction. i got confused now if i got approved or what the reason is i couldn't barely hear her voice as i was interviewed by window and it was crowded and noisy. I was expecting for the pink slip i knew if i had this pink slip i was approved but it wasn't.

Please help me, K1 fiance visa who got approved in Abu Dhabi, have you got the same paper as i have got from the consular? is it means APPROVED?

I have attached the white slip.
