Hi! I just wanted to share my interview story. I hope it can help the K1 visa applicant.
I have checked in at the Premier Inn Hotel nearby US embassy the day before my interview date.
On the 5th of January the big day ! i arrived around 7:30am at US embassy and around 20 applicants were there already and waiting.
At around 7:45am the guard given us initial instruction which documents to be prepared in order to get inside embassy (DS-160,Original passport) and we went all through metal security detector then after all the security checks. the guard have asked us to sit and wait then 20minutes has gone the guard allow us to go all the way to the consular area/processing( where are the judgement area:).
Another security check and You will be asked the same documents (DS-160,original passport) nd gave it back to us with token #. the moment i entered the area i can easily feel the tension and nervous break down on each applicant , wishing for the luck of their visa to be granted. ( and so do i literally)
Then i waited for my token to be flashed from the screen. So 30 to 40 minutes later my # was finally being called my token was flashing out the screen and went direct to the window The consular have asked me to provide these documents (DS 160,Birth certificate,police clearance,photos,original passport, affidavit of support,employment letter and bank statement for the petitioner all must be original. then i was told to sit back again and wait. Then after 15 minutes i was called for the finger prints and waited again for the final interview.
i was called again and the consular have asked me to provide my a/c email whether twitter or facebooc, eventually i chose to give my facebook a/c (no password) they are doing a facebook checking in my facebook particularly my status and my fiance status it should be on ENGAGED good points to prove that you and the petitioner are having a bona fide relationship and everybody knows about your real relationships via facebook.( so please change your status now to engaged! it really did matter to the consular officer.
At 9:45am my number was flashed again for the FINAL INTERVIEW with the american consular. i greeted her and she replied back, she looks so serious no smiling at all. like a principal. 1st she asked me to take an out taking and place my hand on the small machine then handed me a pamphlets about domestic evidence with a brief explanations she said read it when you reach home. she asked me 4 questions. HOW WE MET, HAVE I EVER BEEN MARRIED BEFORE, DID I MET HIS SON, IN WHICH COUNTRY DID I LIVE IN APART FROM DUBAI AND PHILIPPINES. so i answered all these basic questions truthfully,sincerity and honesty with all of my knowledge eye to eye without being nervous front of her. she seems satisfied to what she heard then handed me a white sheet of paper with the instruction and she was informing me that my passport will be delivered within 2 to 3 working days. ( actually i literally couldn't hear her voice properly due to i was interviewed through window where all the waiting applicants can able to hear all of my statements which was very very awkward moments. wish i was interviewed with the male consular in a private room but i wasn't :) so the whole interview took 2minutes only !! awesome isn't? ( the interviewer are male and female both american nationalities in a private room or window).
Then finally i was out at 10:15am so basically the whole interview was fast and great experienced with the positive results!
Tips!
1. Be presentable and professional, Wearing clothing that doesn't fit properly is one of the easiest ways to ruin a first impression,make a great impression to the consular. ( no punky jeans, flip top or too much overlooked. it does exist anyway, I've seen many applicant looks like they just got up from bed, or they look like they are going to the mall or fish market wearing punky hole jeans,slippers etc OMG!
3. No bags, purse or luggage are allowed or else you will refuse to get inside. I used paper bag.
4. eat something light meal before you go to the embassy.( no food available inside)
My advised to all k1 visa applicant to extend your patient longer i know this process will take you to the next level even your stress level out of your control. its really tiring and exhausting physically,emotionally and mentally through each paper work and processing of how to do this and that. please remain positive and put God in all the things you make/do and believe you will get all the work/effort that you put in, all the hard work paid off. Just focus and do the work slowly but accurately to avoid any mistakes and start over again. make sure you do the research about k1 visa of how to make your documents organize and tidy etc. and Please do not obtain all the civil documents such as NBI,Police clearance and Cenomar those are having validity dates it will cause you delays, the consular accepts only a fresh documents wait till you received the letter from the Embassy with the interview instruction.
( unfortunately i did and i had to obtain fresh ones again 3x) , keep reviewing your documents and be thorough in all event dates/places/names (very important? GOODLUCK K1 APPLICANTS!!!!!!!! |
