How did you (who filed after 3 years) answer this question:

Part 7 - A: How many total days did you spend outside of the United States during the past five years?

Did you count days before you became permanent resident?

I am afraid I made a mistake - I just counted days after becoming PR.

Has anyone received FP notice from NSC recently?

This was asked the other day and everyone said that the obvious answer was just the days you spent out of the country since you became a permanent resident. Not the 5 years. Typical bad form from the USCIS.

It's not bad form. Most people here are filing under a WAIVER of the 5-year requirement.

Hmmmm.... I included the days before I became the LPR too. I don't know, it asked for 5 years, so I gave. But I think they should read the Part 7.C and found out that how long I actually been out of the country. I hope, I gave them the right answer.

You can explain your application at your interview; the officer will make any necessary corrections.

You know this is a little confusing. I actually marked down all the travel dates back to 5 years. When I had my interview he asked how many days since being a PR. I had a 6 week trip in the past 5 years, but it was before the PR. Once he realized it was before the PR date, he just crossed it out and adjusted all the time to just being that after the PR date (3 years back rather then the 5 years)...
