Hey everyone!

I'm currently in the midst of a nightmare with my EAD card being lost in the post having been adjusting from J1 to green card through marriage the past 6 months or so:(

But on a positive note I found out today my interview for AOS has been scheduled for December 8th, hurray!

My only concern is, my wife and I are planning on flying to visit my family in Ireland on the 16th for Christmas.

Does anyone know whether an interview the week prior could adversely affect our plans? For example, would they ask to take my passport if I were approved at the interview or anything like that?

Super excited to have a possible end in sight, but as always, nervous about all the potential complications that could arise.

Thanks for your help everyone!

They won't take your passport. But take your tickets with you and if you get approved on the spot, you can ask for a I-551 stamp that will enable you to be readmitted before you receive the physical green card. But have a back up plan for your travel plans, in case you don't get approved on the spot.

Good luck!
