Hi there,

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and helping out.

I (Beneficiary) have 3 quick questions regarding the Cover Sheet for the NVC package (AOS, Financial Docs and Civil Docs) and our cover letter.

1) As I'm supposed to send both AOS and IV Civil docs together, am I putting only 1 cover sheet or should there be 1 for each, so 2? We also have a joint sponsor (My father-in-law), do we need to attach a cover sheet on top of his i-864/financial docs? Basically what I'm asking is that if 1 cover sheet for all is okay (Beneficiary's i-864, Joint sponsor's i-864 and my own civil docs) or do I need to add 3 cover sheets?

2) For financial docs, the requirement is to submit either IRS Tax Transcripts or Federal Income Tax Returns. We are including Federal Income Tax Returns but not the transcript. The cover sheet gives us 3 options to check mark - <Enclosed> <Unavailable> <Not Applicable>. Should I check mark Unavailable or Not Applicable for IRS Tax Transcripts (As we are sending Tax Returns instead)? My money's on Not Applicable but I'm just double checking.

I have searched the site to get the answers but I couldn't find anything relevant. I apologize if this has been answered in the past already.

3. This one is not a question but just to have our cover letter rechecked if it's all good to go or not. Here's how our cover letter looks like (Using only 1 cover sheet) -

October 24, 2016

Name of Applicant: AAA

Applicant's Date of Birth: 11/11/1911

Name of Petitioner: BBB

Petitioner's Date of Birth: 22/22/1922

NVC Case Number: 111111222222

To Whom It May Concern,

I, BBB, am a United States citizen temporarily residing in Bangladesh with a “No Visa Required” permit and currently living with my Bangladeshi husband – AAA. I came to Bangladesh on 11/1/1111 and was married on 11/11/11111. Since then I have been living with my husband in Bangladesh. I wish to return to the United States as soon as possible and to have my husband come with me to make our residence there together.

Please find enclosed the following:

Petitioner

  • Form I-864
  • Photocopy Of Federal Income Tax Returns for 2015
  • Photocopy Of Employment Letter
  • Photocopy Of Certificate Of Self-employment Earning from Freelancer.com

  • Proof of Domicile - Letter from Grandparents
  • Photocopy Of Bank Statements - CD Bank (USA)
  • Photocopy Of Birth Certificate

Joint Sponsor

  • Form I-864
  • Photocopy Of Federal Income Tax Returns for 2015, 2014, 2013

  1. One cover sheet is fine. Also, a photocopy of the petitioner's birth certificate is not needed, remove that item.
  2. N/A
  3. Letter looks fine.

Thanks Ryan. I found this answer from you - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/521967-i-864-cover-sheet-with-sponsors-how-to-check-off/ where you suggested the person to use 2 cover sheets. Don't we have the same situation (Sponsor and joint-sponsor enclosing different documents)? Am I missing something here? Sorry for being stupid

That was two years ago when things were done a little differently; now you only need one cover sheet.

What I will suggest is placing a dividing sheet between each stack explaing what the next set of documents consist of.

Thank you. In our situation, my wife (Petitioner) is not submitting W2 but the Joint-sponcor is submitting his W2 (Father-in-law). So should I check mark Enclosed for W2 on the checklist or should I check mark Not Applicable?

BBB

In my case, I've got three cover sheets, as apparently all must be included.

1st the Interview letter checklist style cover sheet

2nd the Civil Documents cover sheet (then included photocopies of all the documents you've pretty much outlined)

3rd the Affidavit of Support cover sheet (then included complete and signed by pen I 864 (no co-sponsor), IRS tax transcripts 2015, 2014, 2013. Paystubs, bank statements, proof of US domicile)

All of them were prepared in that order and sent in one package.

Hope that helps :)
