Paying the interview fee

Hello VJers

Currently our case is still in Transit according to the website. We have gathers all of the documents for packet 3 except for the interview fee. Can we pay this now before our case is ready, or do we have to wait? We have already printed the instructions and deposit slip to give to the bank, but I am assuming that because of exchange rates there is a deadline as so when you must make the deposit. We would like to send Packet 3 to the Consulate as soon as our case is ready if its possible.

You might want to check your Regional Discussion forum; we were able to pay the fee when we booked the interview online.

Pay the fee after the DS-260 has been submitted online. when you submit and pay the fee it will include everything. https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

We did fill out the DS-160 already and she got all the info and deposit slip. She must pay by Wednesday it says. So I am assuming as long as we pay by that date it doesn't matter when our case is ready. Right? We will have the receipt number showing we paid and to submit with Packet 3.

Well I don't think it matters much now anyway. She went to the bank and paid the fee and later today the case went to Ready status.
