Wait time for USEM Visa Issue???

Hi all. Interview went well at USEM, but we had to submit a NBI clearance with an AKA name. She was married before but never used her married name as her ex immigrated to the US 5 months after they were married. She is now divorced. We had our Interview on September 29th and were asked to submit a new NBI clearance with an AKA name. We did as instructed and the document was delivered to the Embassy on 3 October. I, the petitioner, was present at the interview and the CO told us not to worry about anything. He said everything was good and once we submitted the new NBI clearance our Visa would be processed and that this type of requst happens quite frequently and it was nothing to worry about. With that said, our case was updated on 4 October which was in Immigrant Administrative Processing. Then on 5 October the status changed to Non-immigrant Ready and the CEAC website said to check back after 2 business days. Its been 14 calendar days and no update has been posted to our case since 5 October. Anyone been through this and have a best guess at how long it will take for her Visa to be issued?

Hello. I had the same case of your fiance. At first i was worried during interview sept. 13th bec the CO is not asking me a question he was looking at my pink folder.He asked me simple questions and said i need tw more documents from.you you cenomar and NBI with AKA. I submitted as instructed. My status date change sept. 19,20,21,and 23,26 but still under Administrative Processing. 27th change to READY. Check back after 2,business day. 28th back to AP. 29th status change to ISSUED. I got my passport with visa on oct. 5th It might be because im residing in the province that it took longer for delivery. Flying to California this Oct. 28th.

Im pretty sure yours will be in issued status soon.

Hi Viz,

Thanks for the response. I'm just worried because its been 8 business days since the CEAC website said to check back in 2 business days. Any advice there?

Im sorry. I have no idea why it takes that long when it says there check in 2 busines day.

Maybe you can call the US embassy. I did call once during my waiting on my updates.

Did they give you any information when you called? When i called the other day they said if you reach 3 weeks then the help line will contact the IV section. I am the USC. Im here with my fiancee hoping she can go home with me. I went to the embassy yesterday and asked if there was someone i could talk to to get an update? Pretty much told me No and stated that they dont have a process for in person followups. I asked to speak with a CO to be better informed about the process and again was told that that is not possible. They gave me an email address to send an inquiry to and sent me on my way.

You are processing in a normal window. Don't call USEM as its a waste of your time their's. When your status changed to non-immigrant then you are close to having your visa issued. Everyone experiences the same as you are.

More patience is needed.

As a follow-up to my original post, our visa took 21 days to be issued. We had to provide an additional document to the Embassy, which added an additional 6 days to our overall processing time making it 27 days total from Interview to Visa Issued.

The Visa process is:

1. Interview

2. Immigrant Visa Ready

3. Immigrant Visa Administrative Processing (6 Days)

4. Non-Immigrant Visa Ready (20 Days)

5. Non-Immigrant Visa Administrative Processing (1 Day)

6. Non-Immigrant Visa Issued

7. Embassy to Courier to pick-up (2 Days)
