Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone can point me to any Info on medi-cal here in California. I called DHS and they said its not a means tested benefit for immigrants effecting sponsorship....but I honestly would like to see it in writing somewhere or if someone who knows about it could educate me a little?

8. Can green card holders, including those who have lived legally in the US for fewer than 5 years, enroll in Medi-Cal?

Yes. A lawful permanent resident (green card holder) is eligible for Medi-Cal regardless of their date of entry if they meet all other eligibility requirements. Under current Medi-Cal policy, eligible green card holders get full scope Medi-Cal in California even if they have been in the United States for less than 5 years.

Hi Merry! Thanks, I did see that. I guess I should have been more specific.I know they are eligible for Medi-Cal, my question is , will they come after me for asset recovery?
