Translation

I have a few hotel and restaurant receipts that are in French. Do I need to have these translated? They are written in Haitian creole. If so, how would I have this translated? Te he only thing in French is the date and the type of food we ordered.

I'm not 100% on this one so maybe someone else will chime in, but I do not think you would need a translation. The receipts, to me, serve as proof of having traveled/met in person and can add support to claims of having been together. If it was more personal, such as chat logs or birth certificates, those would need to be translated and notarized.

If you were to get a translation, I believe you translate the document, go to the notary public of your state and have the translation notarized by someone who can speak/read both English and French. If they read your original documents and translations and see that they are translated accurately, they give you a certificate of translation with notarized stamp, which proves to a reviewing officer the information is accurate and not made up

They don't need to be translated. They are just supporting evidence of your meeting in person to go along with your passport stamps and boarding passes. If you have ATM receipts while there, or bank/credit card statements showing purchases while there, then include those too.

So if my husbands brothers write letters that attest to our relationship and they are written in Creole or French, then my fiance could translate? Is that correct? He is fluent in Haitian Creole, French, and English? Thanks so much!
