Possible Mistake on Printed K-1 Fiancée Visa?

10 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I had my K1 visa interview on September 16th in Moscow. I was approved! The passport with visa was mailed to me on the 22nd of Sep, and I picked it up today. When I looked at the visa though, I saw that it says "Petitioner: [Last name, first name]" at the lower left corner under annotation and not "Fiancée of [Last name, first name]", like I saw on K1 visa samples online.

Has anyone had the same printed on their K1 visa? Is it normal or should I be worried?

Just to clarify: under annotation it says first, "WAC-xx-xxx-xxxxx", and then, "Petitioner: [Last name, first name]".

Visa class says "K1", which is correct. All the other info is correct. But this bothers me.

Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.

Dear moderators, if this is in the wrong forum, I sincerely apologize!

Aww thank you guys for your replies! I was so worried! Lol I was just like: "She's not just a petitioner, she's my fiancée!" Haha

Anita, ? I'm the one coming home, and I'm coming home to my wonderful girl (same sex couple). ??

I wish I'd asked that in the March filers thread instead of creating a new one. But then again, maybe someone will be worrying about the same thing, and this thread will help them.

I was in ninja mode in the March filers thread from like the beginning, and I know your story and I read all about your struggles, so I'm really glad your fiancée is finally coming home!
