Hello dear VJ friends,

I have recently moved from NJ to PA due to my job offer and have already updated my address on USCIS website. I am already done with my biometrics and waiting to be scheduled for an interview. Do you guys think that it will delay my application significantly? Also, will it change my priority in line ?

Thank you!

Thank you!

Your application will move to your new field office which may be slower or faster.

Your priority date won't change, so you should be interviewed before applicants who applied after you at your new field office.

However, it sometimes takes time to process the request so even if both offices are moving at the same speed, a move does sometimes cause a delay.

The only reasons for significant delays would be:

-If there is a delay in moving your local file from the NJ office to the PA office.

-If there's a mix-up and your application is sent to NJ despite your request.

These do happen, but are not common.

In most cases like yours, a move causes a minor delay.
