Affidavit of Support: Household Size with Joint Sponsor

Hey guys,

I know this question has been asked a million times but I am driving myself up the wall worrying I'm going to get this wrong.

Upon moving to the U.S, I'm going to be moving in with my husband's family. There are 4 of them in the house. My husband, his mother, father and adult brother. My husband will be using his father as a joint sponsor. Does this mean that the "household size" would be 3?

Thank you for your help :).

hi

your husband files an i864 as sponsor regardless of his income, so your husband's household size is 2, you and him

his dad can file the i864A if the are going to combine income, as they live in the same house,

whether he files the i864 or i864A his household size would be considered 3 unless his adult son depends on him and was declared on his taxes

if not it would be himself, his wife and you
