Salam

I read a long time on a post that they give you 3 shots; Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, Hepatitis B, and Meningococcal

I started looking for place where i can get these, I was able to do Tetanus and diphtheria in my local hospital ( I live in small city " Baladia " = commune ) they have it there 1st shot then 2 shot after month. as for Meningococcal this is the one they give to people who go to hajj and it works for 3 years you can get it from the hospital in your "Daira" just go and ask for service place called " la prévention" and tell them that you are going to the US and you need it, at this place you can also get Hepatitis B BUT this is where you need blood test. you can go to any Dr ( even those at hospital ) and tell them that you want to get Hepatits B shot and you need prescription to get it blood test, they will write something like " recherche d'anti core or anti-gène" and you take it to lab and they take blood and ask you to get results other day ( it goes that fast in big clinics in big cities but in small towns they might ask to wait 10 days, you can either wait or just travel to big city near you and get done fast it cost me 1200 DZD), then you take results to "la prévention" in hospital and if it is negative they give you the shot.

Please remember that I was not told from the Azhar clinic to do that, I just did these based on my search here on VJ because I live far away from capital and I don't want to waste any days there just to get blood test or shots that I can do here. I am not certainly sure that these are the same they ask you to do at the clinic or there is more or less, just wanted to share this with those who live far away from capital and don't want to be stuck just for things they can do in their cities or provinces. I hope that helps

@raouf.here is what al azhar.said today in person visit. You need 3 shots Méningite,DT,HBV.and must be done at government hospitals such as pasteur.or al kettar .the blood test is a must but can be done anywhere near you. Blood test needs prescription for those 3 shots if you can't go to al.azhar you can go to any clinic ask a doctor to give you a prescription for those 3 shots then go to any lab and have the blood test done.once you get the results you then have to go to Pasteur with the vaccinations record card you were given by al.azhar.so they can stamp it .

@ Adam ... seems like Alzhar have their own Vaccines sheet that need to be stamped each time you take a shot.

And by the way one of the 3 shots needs to be repeated every 6 months so the next one will be in the U.S.. that's the good reason why you must have al.azhar.vaccination records card so it can be recognized when you enter the U.S.

Méningite is related to Meningococcal so i think thats the same shot; DT is Tetanus and Diphtheria like i said earlier and HBV is also know as Hepatitis B so I think thats the exact ones I got, I got them from goverment hospitals and that service "la prévention" in your Daira or Wilaya gets those shots from Pasteur so im guessing its the same shot.

and Yes the clinic has its own form its call DS3025 (by the way you are going to need a copy of the when you want to do adjustment of status so I suggest you ask for a copy at al Azhar clinc thats what I read on a post on VJ)

@raouf.i think when you go get the shot you missing explain to the clinic that you already had it and bring with you that record so they can decide if they need to skip it or give you another one anyway because you don't want to go your medical with out a proof that will satisfy their clear requirements about the 3 shots. You simply can not just verbaly tell them that I already took some.

@ Raouf .... im not sure that the DS-3025 is the one going to be filled by hspitals everytime you get a shot ... it must be another one.

then the Dr at Al Azhar will copy the vaccines records to the DS-3025 form in addition to other info ... and yes you are right about asking a copy ... you need that copy later in the US to be transated to form I-693. and it has to be done and fill for AOS within a year from the medical.
