For anyone who has been through the process coming from Canada to the US, what kind of gap did you get between the interview and the medical in Montreal ? I know you book the interview first, and then the medical, but were they close together? Close enough to do in one trip? Or do they not really care about your travel when booking them? Thanks

The biggest thing is to remember that the visa will only be valid for 6 months after the medical, if that's a concern. Officially the Medisys response is that they need 3 business days(so no weekends) to process the medical for you. You also need proof that your interview is scheduled to get the medical.

AOS Timeline 350 days

 

May 31/15 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP to USCIS

June 4/15 - Email and text notifications they were recieved

June 10/15 - NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP Dated June 1

June 17/15- Change of address confirmation

June 22/15- Biometrics appointment received

July 1/15- Biometrics appointment done(5 minute appointment, 8 hour round trip drive <_< )

August 5/15 - Change of address submitted for new location

August 8/15 - Mobile/E-mail notifications for approved EAD/AP :)

August 17/15 - Change of address confirmation after calling in

August 17/15 - EAD/AP Combo card mailed out(To the wrong address, and then lost by USPS)

September 3/15 - Contacted USCIS and was told to re-apply with a new application and fees?! Put in a service request online for lost card, and a complaint

September 8/15 - USPS found & returned card to USCIS

September 15/15 - Ombudsman contacted USCIS

September 17/15 - Card mailed back out

September 19/15 - EAD/AP Combo card finally in hand

September 22/15 - NPIW letter received, dated September 9/2015 estimated 6 month wait

October 13-21/15 - Traveled using AP to visit parents & ship the rest of our belongings out west

November 27-30/15 - Traveled using AP

December 28/15- RFE hard copy, waiting on documents from Canada

January 31-February 7/16 - Traveled using AP

February 10/16 - Sent in RFE, delivered Feb 16

April 16/16 - Service request filed, RFE was never updated online

May 12 - Approved email and status update dated May 10. Service request never was assigned or solved, though.

May 14 - Greencard in hand!

The 6 months is no problem. I have everything ready to go and hope to leave the second I get my visa haha. I'm hoping to have the medical done as close to the interview date as possible. I have t booked my interview yet because I wasn't sure how much leeway there was with the medical. Do you get to pick a rough time or do you just take what they give you?

Yeah we were the same way lol. If you have the availability I'd probably just go there for a week(depending on work, where you live) and get the medical on Monday and interview Friday if possible. You pick your time for the medical, but not the interview. It took me about 2-3 weeks to get my interview scheduled.

Might be worth noting, from what I've seen in the Regional Canada section, K-1 interviews are only processed on Wednesdays. Meaning you'd need to get your medical the previous Thursday or Friday (I don't know if the day of counts as one of the three business days, so likely Thursday to be safe) I think to get the results back in time.

Good to know! When I had my interview they did them Weds & Friday, mine was on a Friday.
