About our son? What do you mean by that. K1 is fiancee visa. Did you apply for k1 or k2? Looks like A.P is a lottery. Everybody can get stuck with it. I wonder what other vj members think about it. They are very quite recently.

By our son I mean me and my fiancé has a kid together. We only apply for k1 not a k2 as my son is a us citizen. They asked about my son's medical condition as he has epilepsy and medication is not working too well as he still has multiple seizures.

Well it might rise questions why you have applied for k1 instead of k2. As far as I know it does not matter if your son is us citizen. You have a kid with you fiancee and your are still not married? They will think why this guy have kid and still not married and not applying k2? As far as I know if you want to apply k1 you gotta be very careful. I have read some where in this forum. One person did religious nikah but not married and his wife is pregnant. They have believed they have had ceremoney and got offically married which they di not. I know nikah is religious and not offical. However in us it is offical. So I believe this rised questions why you are applying k1 visa but not k2. Still he got denied his docs went to nvc case. You are at least A.P. I think still this is my opinion you should have applied for k2. Do you understand my point?

Plus everybody knows k1 is waaaay faster than k2. Thats why for those who have applied k2 are still waiting? Why are they waiting? Because they choose to get married. You dont want to wait and so you have apllied k1 but you have acted like married. ( having a baby ) so this rise questions. I hope you understand.

There is no reason to apply for k2 as my son lives in the US and is a US citizen that is redundant. Know as for acting as married there are plenty of people in the world that have kids and are not married. To compare a religious ceremony to a child make no sense to different lanes. That is just my opinion.

Yes you are right on that. In the u.s so many couples are not married but they have kids. But when it comes to uscis and immigrations things dont work like that. They get suspicious from every single thing. I am just trying to see the problem my friend. Hopefully you will get your visa and your kid will be in a good condition. If I was rude, I am sorry.

If you are the fiancee you will file as K1. If you have a child that is not a USC, the child will file as K2 on the same petition as the fiancee's K1.

A quick guide for K visas:

K1: Fiance(e) of a USC

K2: Child of a Fiance(e) of a USC

K3: Spouse of a USC

K4: Child of a Spouse of a USC

Nothing to do with having a child. Me andy Fiance have a 2 month old daughter. It didn't even come up in the interview about her and hos visa was issued today! :)

Had visa interview today. I got put in AP they didn't ask for anything else. My fiancée says it's good sign that they keep my passport. But I am still nervous I have read about Dhaka infamously super long AP cases.

I understand where you are at. I am in same situation as you. Let's just hope its something small that can be taken care of quickly. My fiancée tells me its not a No, so just keep hope.

Hey VJ Family!

So here are the updates on my case:

1) NVC received my case and assigned number on 11/22/16
2) NVC sent out my documents to consulate today on 11/28/16

I havent received any letter yet from NVC not sure when that will come in?

Questions I have:
Do you guys know how long it takes for mail to be received usually internationally?

I need guidance on the next steps. I have my employment letter ready. How many pay stubs do I need? How many bank statements do I need for how many months? How many years of tax documents do I need? I also have a small business, would I include bank statements for that as well?
When do I start filling out the DS form and do I need to send an original affidavit of support form to my fiance or can I scan and email it? When does my fiance set up the medical exam and interview?

I need a lot of guidance!! Thank You!

I received my case number on Oct 5 and didn't receive the letter until Oct 12. So about a week. Letter from NVC is not really important. The "packet 3" or mailed case update from the embassy to the fiance was received on Oct 14.

It took the UK ~1 day to receive my case after it was shipped to the embassy (update on CEAC). However, I could tell my update because i logged into the embassy portal every day until i was able to book the interview.

I submitted 1 year's worth of tax transcripts, my most recent pay stub, and a letter of employment. The I-134 is less stringent than the I-864. So far as I am able to discern, it's more of a "convince the CO your fiance won't be a burden" than a true support affidavit. So it depends on the intensity of your embassy and the leniency of your CO. England is reportedly far more lax than most, so I suggest you check your regional discussion forums for more detailed assistance. Yes, this form DOES need to be an original copy. I mailed mine and it took ~5 days to reach my fiance in the UK.

You can start filling out the DS160 as soon as you get your case number, however as it is your fiance/e's application for visa, THEY have to be the ones to "sign" it electronically. You can assist them with answering the questions and filling out the form however I personally found it impossible to fill it out myself as it asked very detailed personal historical questions.

The medical can be scheduled as soon as you get your case number; the interview varies by embassy. We were able to schedule my fiance's as soon as the embassy "received" the case, some embassies require you to wait until you've received the mailed "packet 3" from the embassy. Again, check your regional discussion forums.

Don't forget your Police Certificate! This can be obtained at any time.
