Help! "The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. "

I'm trying to schedule the appointment with the US Embassy in London and I'm getting the above message with regards to my case number. I've no idea why!

I've already done my medical back in April, and submitted the visa form and had the email confirming I've submitted it (the DS-260) with the PDF attachment in April too.

I submitted the notification for readiness form fine and got the 'Thank you for submitting the forms in support of your visa application. You may now schedule the appointment for your visa interview.' page which I followed the link from...

The Visa Status check says my case is ready for interview...

Any ideas?! Panicking a bit now!!

Did you just submit the Readiness form and immediately try to go to schedule interview? I am wondering if it needs some time there. Try again. Some people get that error when they try too soon. I've been franitcally trying for the last 10mins or so. Maybe I'll try again later and if not email/submit that form. Waaah!

I was thinking try a day later, rather than minutes later. But hopefully your email will move it along if there is a technical glitch they need to address.

Just to check, it's not like I should've had a physical letter inviting to interview? All the things I first mentioned- the email with the attachment and confirmation number on submitting the DS260 etc, is all I should need?

It's complicated searching online as they've changed the procedure over the years and obvs it's different if you're applying from the States or abroad... sob!

I was thinking try a day later, rather than minutes later. But hopefully your email will move it along if there is a technical glitch they need to address.

Same thing happened to us, it just wasn't in the computer yet. We called their helpline and they fixed it on the spot for us.

London doesn't have a helpline to call, but she did email for help.

Yup, all the steps taken, with exception of the booking the courier which I think I do when booking the interview? Which it isn't letting me do

We emailed too before calling. They advise waiting 24 hrs for a reply. They will fix it don't worry

It doesn't necessarily mean you've done anything wrong. This happened to us last month and they fixed it within 24hrs of emailing the address given in the error message. Not that waiting an extra 24hrs was much fun at that point. But they will fix it for you once you email them.

Not to scare you but you did the medical exam in April and you have to travel to the US within 6 months of that date not the visa issue date

You may need to take a new medical exam
