Whew, so today I stopped by a walk-in clinic. Because I didn't have any of my immunization records handy from when I was a kid (unfortunately my parents think they lost it), I was thinking that I might need to get them all done all over again just so I had proof! I walked in with the following list of required vaccinations:

- Mumps

- Measles

- Rubella

- Polio

- Tetanus and diphtheria

- Pertussis

- Haemophilus infuenzae type B (Hib)

- Hepatitis A

- Hepatitis B

- Rota-virus

- Meningococcal disease

- Varicella

- Pneumococcal disease

- Seasonal influenza

I was scared as hell that I had no record of any of the above.

Fortunately, at the clinic, the doctor was able to pull up my records all the way as far back as September, 1988 (two months after I was born) from Alberta Health Services' database. Turns out the list is more like this:

- Mumps

- Measles

- Rubella

- Polio

- Tetanus and diphtheria

- Pertussis

- Haemophilus infuenzae type B (Hib)

- Hepatitis A

- Hepatitis B

- Rota-virus

- Meningococcal disease

- Varicella

- Pneumococcal disease

- Seasonal influenza

He thinks everything crossed off this list I won't need based on my records he found, yay! I've got a shot for Hep A on Wednesday at the clinic. He's not sure if I need the other three I didn't cross off, but he also said that I can get a Tetanus booster if I want one which I'll probably take him up on.
Additionally, my benefits from work will be covering the Hep A shot, so it's only going to cost me $9!
He printed off my records and handed them to me. I hope this list is good enough for the medical in Montreal!

Wouldn't you need updated MMR and TDAP? TDAP is only good for I think 10 years, and you normally have to get MMR boosters later than 2 months of age, don't you?

Of course I am not a doctor or an immigration person. I got TDAP and MMR before I went to the physical since I didn't have records of the MMR and my last Tetanus shot was more than 10 years previous.

TD you need every 5-10 years and MMR it depends on your age. I'm 35 so when my MMR was given, it was as single shot without a booster. If you got a booster you should still be covered because either mumps or measles is the one that needed the booster.
