Hi all,

I'm getting much closer to submitting the I129F and finally getting the ball rolling on this process, however I am trying to front load the application with as much information as possible. One point of concern, probably because I am over thinking this, is certain gaps in information. As a result I am wanting to include a Petitioner Statement explaining certain gaps in data (photos, call records, messages). In a nut shell the reasons for the gaps are as follows:

Phone records: from 2011 until 2016 I've had 3 numbers, the two older numbers I can not request information for because my previous cell phone provider deleted the records when they assigned the phone number to another individual. I am providing the call logs since 2014.

Messages: Certain gaps exist due to lost information. For the past year, we primarily used Wechat, but due to a counterfeit memory card (labeled 64GB, read as 64GB, but was actually 4GB with a built in writing loop), I lost most of our information when I attempted a backup of my phone to my SD card.

Photos: I'm a photographer on the side, and I am used to taking photos for friends and family (and not being asked to be part of the shot). As a result, most of the photos I took are of my fiancee, or her with my pets. I did include photos from 2011 and 2012 taken together to establish a our relationship has been since that period of time, and also included photos from my recent trip to China to fulfill the "met within two year" period.

The question is there anything wrong with including these statements? Is it better to make this statement or does it raise more questions than answers? The actual document I typed is in more detail, but I would rather include these than have any potential gaps that may result in an RFE, particularly since I'm establishing that we have had a relationship since 2011 when we were both in graduate school.

Thanks and look forward to any insight!

In my opinion, yes there is! "Explanations" are often tantamount to excuses.

The words you spend "explaining" the "gaps" are a distraction from your case. Even in reading your post HERE, paragraphs 2, 3, and 4 are completely unnecessary.

You need to take a look at the overall picture you are presenting to the VO. In needs to be one of a happy, loving couple who DESERVE a visa. Anything which distracts from or works to obscure that picture doesn't help your case.

If you can do that CONCISELY TIED TOGETHER. you are MUCH better off. If you are concerned about "gaps" or otherwise missing pieces - DO NOT submit evidence that you don't have.
