My wife has her interview on the 25th of July in Ciudad Juarez. Everything has gone smoothly through out the whole process. But can anyone give us some insight into what to expect? Maybe someone with a similar situation.

My wife, girl friend at the time, was deported (volunteer departure) in 2009. We married in 2011 in Tijuana and have been living in Tijuana ever since. I've been commuting daily to San Diego and I was finally able to start the immigration process in 2015.

I know that at the time of her interview, if everything else goes well, she will be denied for being unlawfully present in the U.S. What happens next if she is allowed to apply for permission to reapply admission (i-212). Is it something that we can do within the next few days while there in Juarez? Do I need to prove extreme hardship for i-212?

What can I do now to prepare so that the process following the interview goes as fast as possible.

Thanks we really appreciate any input.

Check out immigrate2us.net. You'll also need an I-601 waiver providing extreme hardship if she isn't allowed to return to the US for 10 years since she left, so that would be 2019. Please familiarize yourself with waivers on that page, as well as people who've done waivers while border living. It is challenging to prove hardship when you're living in Mexico, but it can be done!

The waiver isn't a form, its an entire packet, and it takes about 6 months to process. Then once its approved, she'll attend a 2nd visa interview to get approved.
