There is a physical presence requirement. You must have spent more than half your time in the US. You will need to list all your trips outside the US.

https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-naturalization/continuous-residence-and-physical-presence-requirements-naturalization

Physical Presence

Applicants are required to show that they were:

  • Physically present in the U.S. for thirty months within the five year period before applying, or (see legal basis)
  • Physically present in the U.S. for eighteen months within the three year period before applying in the case of qualified spouses of U.S. citizens (see legal basis)

In addition, applicants are required to show they have resided for at least three months immediately preceding the filing of Form N-400 in the USCIS district or state where the applicant claims to have residency (See 8 CFR §316.2(a)(5) & §319.1(a)(5)).

you need to go through all your travel dates and make sure that the amount of time you spend in the US meets the requirements that aaron posted.

I went for my interview June 13th pass the test and everything, then when I thought all was well, the officer said he will have to review my travels as they were many. I am here a little over 5 years travel 13 times, never stayed 6 months. When I add up I,m out 15 months, that makes me qualify.I past the 36 months required. My husband is out of the country. Travel only once for the past two years before I went for my interview. Dont hear from him yet almost a month.

Just go through your passport stamps and write down all your dates to make sure you meet the requirements instead of just hoping and praying.

You need to know your dates anyway to fill out the N400
