Hello,

I read through this thread, but I am still pretty confused about this form....
If someone can help me out that would be awesome.

So basically my sister and brother-in-law are in a different household, and they are 1st and 2nd joint sponsors for my husband.

I filled out three I-864, and sent it in to NVC.

They told me to send in form I-864A for my brother-in-law.

My questions:

Is this form more of something between my sister and him, or me and him?

What would I be checking my brother-in-law (Part2, 1.c.) as; brother or spouse (of my sister)?

Also, when it is talking about the sponsor on Part5, is the sponsor me (primary sponsor) or my sister (household member and joint sponsor)?

Your sister and her husband are household members. They probably file their taxes jointly. Your brother in law is your sister's spouse!

So you send:

YOU = I-864 - Primary sponsor. (Check part 1 1.a.) (on part 4 on YOUR I-864 you put 1 in box 1, and 0 in the rest = 2 household members.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sister = I-864 (Check Part 1, 1.d.) (part 5 on HER I-864 is her household size... Put a 1, in box 1, and 1 in box 3.... (If they have no children ) household size = 3.)

BIL = I-864a (check 1.c. Spouse)

I answered every question you specifically asked about the I-864a.

Your BIL is your sister's household member as they are married. I told you what to mark down. What else was there?
