I get married on the 8th of August to my viking hubby (Denmark resident) and am starting to look at filling out the forms to ensure we will qualify for this before we are legally married and close off the K1 option.

Knowing the pros and cons of CR1 vs K1, we do believe that CR1 is the best option, but there are a few questions on the forms that I am confused about:

1. If our wedding is in the states (He is returning home a few weeks after), how soon can I file the I-130 form?

2. on question 14, it asks for I-94 or I-95 number, but he has only visited me with a tourist Visa, where would we get this number?

3. On number 21, it asks for the address we have both resided in, but we have never been able to live together due to visas and are trying to actually be together with this situation. Do we just leave this blank, and make sure that we attach the Evidence of a Bonafide marriage (We will have photos of us together, chat logs, letters from friends and family, and willing to take advice from other posters)

Should I just splurge on the Lawyer because we do not and have not lived together, or is it possible to do this alone!?

Thanks!

1) As soon as you have the marriage certificate

2) online if he is currently in the USA - https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent.html - if he is not currently in the USA write ~none~ or N/A

3) You can put "have not lived together yet"

Do not splurge on a lawyer if you don't need to. Most of us have done it alone and a good many that haven't, wish they had. (Of course there are some that didn't but should have!)

Any questions you have that cannot be answered by the guides or other threads, please feel free to post in this thread. :D Welcome to the forum!
