Philippines - SLEC Med Exam Concerns

Did SLEC give her the entire medical record to take to the interview? If so no worries. But if not then the Psych Dr. has to finish his write up and include it with the medical. I hope he felt he could get it completed for the interview then it won't delay the issuance of the visa once approved. As I see it everything is going as others have done before you.

Good luck at the next stage.

And we're done!

Still waiting for the medical package to get to the USEM but everything else is good. Visa = approved!

The questions we received were simple. He asked where & when we met and then asked about our trip to Palawan because he is interested in going there himself. I think our interview lasted maybe one minute (not joking). I think it's because we placed a ton of evidence in the package and he immediately noticed that I've been to the PI about a dozen times to be with my fiancé.

Forgot to mention that they didn't ask for the I134F (support form).

The lady in the final stage (releasing) told us they would email us when the medical package arrived but we have yet to receive an email.

Is there a way to check on this? Or should we just be a little more patient?

Cool! Thanks! Still in processing (waiting) so I suppose it's another one of those things.

Is it normal for the medical to take this long for transfer in the event of "additional" evaluation?

Yes it can take this long. More patience but give them a call. I think it's been long enough. But you won't find out until you call.

We found out (sent them an email) that the medical package was sent to USEM on the 13th.

So we play the waiting game again. :)

But on a positive note for anybody who is interested... SLEC responded to my email inquiry VERY fast.

Is it still true that we have six months from issuance to use her K1 visa for entry into the US? Or has that changed (to anybody's knowledge). I imagine it will show an expiration date on there... but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Yes you normally have 6 months to enter the US before the visa will expire. Nothing has changed. The clock usually starts ticking at your original medical date. Check your visa as soon as it arrives to ensure that you understand your timetable.

Just posting an update (which isn't much of one really). Still no movement. The last stamp on CEAC was the 15th... which I presume is when they received the medical package from SLEC.

She called the USEM earlier this week and was given a typical run-around and given another number to call.. which turned out to be a recording with no value.

Your still in their window of processing your file. Relax. Another week or two and you'll know.

I don't know what it means (haven't started researching it yet) but upon running the CEAC K1 visa status check this morning... the case is now "Ready" with today's stamp on it.

It also says to check back in two business days.

I don't know if this is good or bad but I'm getting amped up. I sure hope it's good. It's movement at least.. right?

That's a good sign as it means your visa is being printed and attached to your passport then into the package. Today or tomorrow it should hit issued which means it has left THE BIG HOUSE for your house. More patience.

That is FANTASTIC! I could say that I wasn't worried... but that'd be a lie. I kept reading posts (across the internet) about people being stuck in AP for months and months and months.

Thanks for the info about the status.

YW. Something that I have learned through others like you who are on the visa journey that we can be our own worst enemy. We look, we check, we call, we email and we post our worries and concerns when after all is said and done most visas run a typical timetable without many hicups. Good luck and safe travels.
