Any advises on moving to Philadelphia?

Hello,

Can somebody give a guide for the safest areas/neighborhoods in Philly? I've already read that North part of the city is a big no no. I assume the south west is supposed to be the safest area. We are a young family with one toddler, who will be moving from Pittsburgh. The reason why we want to move from Pitt, is that we want to live in a bigger city with more things to do etc. We know that big cities are less safer but I'm sure there has to be good places to live so the unsafe hoods can be maybe avoided? I would love to find the safest and good looking neighborhood with pretty looking streets , close to shopping, parks and health care. We will most likely have a car, so public transportation doesn't have to be a priority but yet it would be still good to be close to that too just in case.
