Hello everyone!

Our Case was approved and I called NVC and received the invoice number and another number (I'm assuming the case number). My question in I am not sure what the next step is for sure. I know they will send the packet to the consulate. I just returned from visiting my fiance so I brought him the copy of the original packet I sent in. Once the consulate receives the packet it says they send out a packet for my fiance...what is in that packet?

*What are the numbers I got from NVC for?

* What do I need to do now to prepare for his medical and interview?

* Do I need to fill out a DS-160 form?

I would appreciate any input anyone can give me. Thank you so much!

(Sorry I don't know how to include my timeline on this post  )

Hi,

So the requirements of the documents needed vary from embassy to embassy so I would definitely try to post in your country's forum and see if they can give you specifics. Or you can also try to contact specific members, most folks I've interacted with are very helpful when you message them.

I can speak for our embassy and maybe it can give you a general idea:

The NVC number is used for book the interview and they also need it when you call to book the medical appointment.

Yes, go ahead and fill out the DS-160, you will need that to book your appointment. I would personally complete it now as you have your case number, which would indicate that your case will hopefully be at your consulate soon.

Pertaining to prepare for the interview, as the USC you need to complete the affadavit of support (form i134) and send it to your fiance along with the supporting documents (letter from employer, letter from bank about your accounts, irs transcripts of your 1040, w2, pay stubs, etc.). I would also submit an updated letter of intent to marry with a more current date. Also, advise your fiance to prepare more evidence to show your relationship is continuing after you've filed so he can take it to the interview.

Hope this helps some :)

The NVC gave me two numbers he said one was the invoice number and he didn't say what the other number was so I assume it's the case number that we will need for the interview and medical?

My fiancé has no access to a computer so is it possible for him to sign and submit the forms via his mobile phone? If I fill everything out and then send him the link to sign into the account?

Thank you so much!
