Hi guys, I received my one year extension through my removal of conditions. However, I was just wondering if I move to a new company will I pass the E-verify check. Will it show I have an extension? Or can they not see how long I have left on visa?

For your I-9

In Part 1, select that you are a permanent resident and put your A #.

For part 2.... Does your social security card have any one of the following on it?

1. (1) NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT

2. (2) VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTHORIZATION

3. (3) VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION

If not, then you will show them your driver's license and social security card as your two documents and you will be fine... and you will never have to re-verify with that employer even after you get your 10-year card.

If you do have one of those on your social security card, take your original green card and the extension letter when you go into work and don't bother about the social security card. That should be okay but I am not 100% sure. Either way, I don't think you have anything to worry about... the human resources department should be aware of how it works.

If you do have one of those on you SSN card, go to the social security administration and get it removed so that in the future you won't have to worry about it at all.
