Proof of Legal Name Change if either the US Citizen and/or foreign fiance is using a name other than that shown on the relevant documents.

Hi! I'm new here please bear with me. I'm little confused on legal name change and divorce decree and I'll explain what I mean. My legal name was changed when I accepted USA citizenship in 1996. As of today all the documents for K-1 I'm submitting have my new name and my question: Do I need to supply a copy of my name change? And my fiance all the documents as of today have her marriage name does she need to supply a copy of her marriage Decree with the name change?

Another question I have is related to my first marriage that is shown on I-129F. Do I need a copy of Divorce Decree of my first marriage? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

If you are providing documents that have a different name than your current legal one, THEN you would need to provide documentation of name change. You can use a copy of your naturalization certificate to prove your citizenship, which has your current legal name on it., so I would not think you need to provide anything else about the name change. List the old name under Other Names Used.

Both the USC petitioner and foreign fiance(e) need to provide any and all divorce decrees from prior marriages.
