Statement of employer (NOA2)

Hello everyone,

we haven't received our NOA2 yet but I've been looking into what documents we will need soon and I read that my american fiancé will need a statement from the employer (showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent) . My visajourney timeline estimates that we will get our NOA2 around July 20th.

Now the problem that we are having is that his company went public last year and is slowly but surely letting go of everyone and there is a rumor that people in his position is going to let go at the end of July. Would it be a smart move then to get that letter of employment soonish before that happens?! He is looking for another job right now but it's not sure whether he will have one by next month nor August.

Thank you in advance!

First off, it's so hard to go by the VJ timeline as it's dependent on members entering their data correctly and on time. Mine estimated I would get my NOA2 May 2 and didn't come until June 6. It moved everyday after May 2 ahhhhh the funs of filing in March LOL.

Personally, I would go ahead and get the letter just in case as it wouldn't hurt to have it and who knows he may even still be at his job when the interview rolls around. So you're prepared and it won't delay. If he does end up being let go (fingers crossed against this), you can include an explanation to show that his employment terminated with X company on this date and he's newly hired at Y company so it shows continuity of income. Or show that he's drawing unemployment, etc., Best of luck!
