Its a pain in the butt if you can return i would. I went into labor had no choice. Also, my insurance did not cover the birth. I had to pay almost 4000. They would only pay an open bill but in DR you have to pay before discharge so..... Meanwhile in US i had my insurance...

I wouldnt do it if i had the choice.

....if you go to a clinic it's more then a hospital. But I would NEVER go to hospital in DR. crazy....

My wife has the dreaded "Dominican C-section" scar. The C-sections are done so bad there that it leaves a keloid scar. Fortunately her's is not that bad but she told me of family and friends of hers that are horrific.

If you Google C-sections in the D.R., you will see that it has the highest rate of c-sections in the world. There are mostly done unnecessarily. I once asked why the scars are so bad and they told me that sometimes the doctors do it intentionally to women who can't cover the bill.

Unvaccinated newborns do not have travel restrictions

My pedi wouldn't allow me to travel with my child before she was vaccinated it could harm her so...I took my doctors orders. She was allowed at 6 weeks with first round that's from US to DR. With the one born in DR I was able to bring her.

It's a personal choice.
