I'm confused! My fiancé in the USA got the notice from the NVC on March and our case number #RDJ was created on March 2nd. On March 17th the status changed to READY for interview when scheduled at the embassy (I dunno if it means the embassy got our petition). I waited for an email or letter appointment notice until May, and nothing!! I emailed the consulate and on May 18th they emailed me saying "congratulations, the consulate has received your petition for a K visa", informing me to proceed. Great! Then when trying the create my account at the scheduling website I got the message saying thay my case number is NOT READY for an appointment!!! I checked the Visa Status Check website and it still says READY, but it was updated on June 2nd. I called the consulate yesterday and they still say it's NOT READY. Is it normal?? How long does it take?? I've been reading some cases here that were quick.

The process take some time. You need to trust in what the consulate says. Sometimes the website has wrong information. Keep calling them so you will know for sure if your process is ready or not.

You can only go further if the consulate is ready for you. In me case, ir toou 5 weeks from the uscis approval to get an email from the consulate with instructions on how to proceed with the visa appointment, documents, medical, etc.

It's odd that you're waiting since March. I'd inquiry again by email, be sure to put both full names, RDJ case number, approval date, etc.

Good luck!

That's exactly what I've been doing since they emailed me telling me to proceed. I called and emailed twice and they say that in their system it's still not ready to schedule anyway.

Strange. It's taking too long, they at least could give you a reason why or an expected date or something. I'm sorry this is happening to you, but oh well, immigration is a waiting game. With you all the best.

Because what I understood, they schedule that for you, not you directly...

My interview was scheduled by them and it was the time that I received the email with all the information!

Take your time that soon they will get in touch with you ;)

I´LL START TO LIVE BACK AGAIN WHEN I´LL BE ON MY HUBBY´S ARMS, FOREVER AND EVER. UNTIL THERE, I DON´T LIVE. I SURVIVE. (L)

For k1s the applicants schedule their own interview.

I kept calling them and they kept telling me to wait until it was actually ready. I tried everyday until I was able to schedule, they never told me why it was taking forever, but at the end everything worked out ;)
