Hey guys,

With the London Embassy's new appointment booking system, do you know if we receive a physical letter confirming the interview date, time etc. or if it's just the online print out?

Thanks in advance!

As yet I've recieved nothing physical, and the website directs you to print the confirmation. So, it appears to be the online confirmation only so far.

The new process would make mailing out an appointment letter redundant.

Yeah, I received an email from info unit yesterday, they told me everything is via the new website, you print out your appointment notice from there.. Sucks for me that they changed the system, I had previously arranged an interview for may 23 (which was approved via email), and then they implemented the new system and told me to arrange it via that... nothing available til the end of june :/ so I've had to (at info units advice!) request an expedite... hopefully itll work out.

My other dilemma is that my police cert expires on June 9th, hoping i dont have to pay for another one of those bad boys!

I don't even understand how your arranged an interview when NVC assigns your date? Explain. And if you did indeed have a proper interview for May 23, then why would you expect it to be void because a procedure for K1s changed? That's not even your visa.

Your police certificate is good for one year. If it expires, then It is no longer valid.

Nick -

Yes, NVC arranged my interview for April 5th, I was unable to attend that date, so when I received my appointment letter, I wrote to London Embassy via the contact form online and requested a new date (May 23). They wrote back and confirmed that they had rescheduled me to May 23.

I wrote back and asked at what time on May 23 and when would I get an appointment letter, to which they replied 'once they had received my medical packet'.

And in the end, once they received my medical packet they told me to schedule the appointment via the website and that was the only way possible.

Also, I'm IR-1, and the appointment selection process is the same as for the K visas now, via the ais.usvisa website.

Making sense?

Okay. I didn't know NVC had quit assigning interview dates and switched to schedule your own. Otherwise it sounds like somebody didn't understand you and gave you the wrong answer. An email confirmation is all you would need to get in. Even with nothing, you get in because your name is on the list. They wouldn't send a letter when it is just a date change. Are you sure you didn't just muck it up with all the questions to them? Did you pick a new date already? If not call the NVC number and ask the date of your interview. They can see it so press them for it if they try to say no.

Just tried to call them - They were firm on saying no, they kept telling me that as my case was with the embassy now they can't see it any more :/

I'll hold out hope for my expedite request anyway, and while I'm waiting for that I guess I have to keep checking the website for any cancellations!
