Same with our case, we graduated last year and took the local board and started reviewing for the nclex. I just hope we could make it, in passing the NCLEX so that everything would run smoothly. Were there no other questions with regards to your petition knowing you don't have work? Thank you!

At USCIS stage, no questions or trouble at all. They approved me in 5 months. At NVC stage, when applying for AOS I still had to fill out an I-864 which looked sad since the past 4 years I wasn't living in NJ.

My parents were our co-sponsers. I was still in the Philippines while preparing the AOS and I was so confused!

I regret not looking and asking through VJ!! I had both my parents fill out I-864 and made them both fill out the I-864A just in case :dancing:

If you already sent your I-130 packet, I recommend you prepare your AOS already ...

Financial support is not part of the I-130, so no need to include any of that. Once you hit NVC you will fill out an I-864 and your joint sponsor would fill out an I-864 too. If you haven't been required to file taxes in the US, attach a letter to your I-864 explaining this and the reason for it.

Plenty of people get immigration visas with an unemployed US spouse, so you have nothing to worry about as long as you have either a joint sponsor living legally in the US and who meets the poverty guidelines or you have three times the assets to meet them on your own.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thank you so much for the information! :) I guess I'll also have to wait around 5 months. Good thing we live in the same state :D Did you send yours through a courier or you went through their office?

When I was sending my I-130 packet I was already in NJ so I just mailed it to USCIS lockbox. I went to the Philippines a few months after I sent it :)
