Hello,

We are going to the FedEx office tomorrow morning to send off our I-130 and we are now working on getting together all the documentation we're likely to need for the NVC stage.

I would like to request some help identifying the correct paperwork I need to get with regard to "court records".

Basically, we've just recently finished fighting a case that was filed against me in 2013 in FL. At the time it was filed and a warrant issued, I was out of the US and it left us in a difficult position because I could not re-enter the US with an active case filed. We consulted with a lawyer at the time to find out what I could do from abroad and was told "not much". As such, it was left in limbo until December 2015 when we decided to try consulting with some other lawyers.

Long story short, we hired a new lawyer January 28th and by April 7th (a couple weeks ago) the case was dropped. Given that the case was filed while I was out of the US, I was never arrested and as such have no arrest record.

I already have one court certified copy of the final disposition (nolle prosequi) in my possession.

What else do I need to get?

There is very little official documentation relating to the case - at the moment, I have electronic copies of the following (and this is all that exists):

1. Initial information filed - (this is the documentation that the state attorney used to issue the capias. All names redacted)
2. Order Finding Probable Cause
3. Capias Issued
4. Notice of Appearence, Written Plea of Not Guilty
5. Notice of Intent to Participate in Discovery
6. State's Response to demand for discovery (this is an identical copy of the initial information filed, with all names visible).
7. Disposition - Nolle Prosequi (I already have a court certified copy of this).
8. Capias Recalled, Capias Returned Unexecuted

I would have thought that only the final disposition was required but then I'd rather not assume this. It will take some time to get certified copies of any other documentation required so I'd rather order it now. Also need to know if I should order more than one copy of each thing? (in case NVC and the Embassy both require original certified copies?)

Aside from the above, I have no other criminal record / criminal history and absolutely no arrests in my life ever. That said, I did once get a speeding ticket in Florida in 2012 and also an automatic ticket from one of those red light cameras they have in FL. I have no records / documentation for either of these.

Would appreciate advice on what I should order.

NVC will not require original copies of anything, only the Embassy will.

Don't worry about the traffic ticket or the red light camera ticket.

Thank you Ryan. Do you know if the Certified Final Disposition I have would be enough for the embassy?

I want to make sure I have all my paperwork ready to go so that we can respond to any paperwork requests immediately.
