Hi,

I would like to know if there are people on VJ that filed from a country where they were not born.

In my case that would be Germany.

I was born in Holland (Netherlands) and moved to Germany recently.

Does anyone have an idea if this would cause problems or even a delay?

Are you the US citizen or the foreigner (a.k.a. beneficiary)?

It sounds to me like you're the beneficiary but the way you wrote things leads me to think that you believe you can file for a K-1; you can't. Your fiancé(e), the US citizen (a.k.a. petitioner), can, and only he/she can.

Besides that, it doesn't matter where you currently are relative to what your home country is.

When filling out the I-129F form, the petitioner should simply specify what embassy you would like to use; so if the one in, say, Berlin is closest to you, use that. It's not a problem that you're not a citizen of the country where the embassy you'll be using is situated. Likewise, if you are closer geographically to the embassy in The Hague, you could also use that.

Hope I didn't misunderstand your question.
