Approved, but didn't received the GC

Hey guys.

So we had an interview scheduled for our ROC, but the interview was cancelled and we got an approval letter from the local office where we were supposed to have the interview.

It's already been 2 weeks and my online status haven't changed and I haven't gotten my GC yet. I know it's too early to panic, but I know people get their GC in a week or so after the approval.

I'm thinking maybe the reason is that my approval came from the local office and not the CSC

Something similar happened to a friend. He was told by his congressman's case worker to expect an interview at the local office. Randomly, he got an approval letter from the local office, no interview. His online case status changed about 2 1/2 weeks later to card in production. It went directly from "my case was received" to "card in production". He got the card in hand 2 weeks later. It came from Kentucky.

I saw his approval letter, and it said to get a stamp at the local USCIS office if he needed proof of continued residency. Just be patient and allow a month or so to receive the card.

Give it 60 days like they say in the approval notice, if you don't get it by then call them and find out what's going on. Better yet, you can always ask your congress man or woman to talk to USCIS
