Petition upgrade from F2A to CR1

I just got an email from nvcinquiry that I am in que for interview. We requested for a petition upgrade since my wife recently became a naturalized USC but at the last part of the email stil my case category was F2a. Do you think they will schedule me for an interview? I dont know if upgrade has already done.

If you are not sure, Call NVC again for verification. That is the only true way you can be sure.

F-2A CR1... both are immigrant visas. Only difference is in the waiting time before reaching the interview stage. Don't know that the embassy will change the category.

At both USCIS and NVC stages, if the petitioner becomes a citizen with a pending F2A, the petition can be upgraded from F2A to IR1/CR1.

You just have to send a letter with the required documents to prove your (petitioner's) new immigration status.

In this situation the case file is already at USEM, so what can be done at USCIS or NVC is moot. Now to see what the embassy does in that regard.
