Question about "Issued" on CEAC website

Hey guys,

CEAC says that my husband's green card is "Issued. Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment."

He was approved at the interview and there was no mention of administrative processing and they didn't request any further documents. The guy said it would be about a week and he'd get the visa and packet couriered, not several weeks. What does the CEAC site mean about administrative processing?

Thanks!!

There are 2 kinds of administrative processing:

1) The one that can take months to years is a background check against your name or career and is prolonged if anything suspicious shows up.

2) The one that takes a few hours or a few days which is the necessary printing and processing of your visa.

I think yours is the latter because your status says "Issued". If it were in the longer administrative processing, your status would say "Administrative Processing". When I was waiting for my visa, I had the same status as you for one day and the next, it changed to "Issued", your passport is being sent to you, or something along those lines. You have nothing to worry about :)
