Ok people , interesting question here. Joan is an OFW in HK and her contract will expire on May 8th and she will need to leave the country but she would like to extend the contract at least another 10 days with her employers agreement. So if her visa is issued say around April 20th when will her medical expire? On her end of original contract day? or at the end of the extra 10 days? or is her medical exam good for the 6 months based on the visa issue date no matter what.

*Currently just went on AP after interview 3/29 for late medical report but to be delivered eta April 11 Only issue we have.

Thanks

For entering US you have 6 months from medical to enter US. So whenever you get medical the clock starts counting down. Now for K1's your medical exam results validity has a shelf life of 1 year because you will need said results in US for AOS. If you didn't file AOS a year from medical you would need a new one. But for the purposes you listed you have 6 months from medical to enter the US or you have to get a new one.

Ok, so her employee contract date is irrelevant and has no ties to the medical expiration and she's good to extend her stay by 10 days with no issues?

There's no issue or ties between her medical and employment contract to stay more days with her employer. I had my medical last January, and had my visa last Feb.. But I stay here with my employer until April 30, due to some reason. And the medical for k1 is good for six months.
