I was fed up with waiting so I called NVC and this nice lady told me that I have my interview date!!!!

Friday, April 13, 2007 at 8:30am!!!

Exactly 4 weeks!!! So now I'll have to get my medical, get my ticket, hotels, etc etc.. all done!!

Riblet and whoever that has their case completed within this month, call NVC NOW and find out if you have a date!

I'm so happy!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Lot of great news!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

2007-05-10: Biometrics appointment (both - Biometrics review)

2007-06-05: AOS interview letter date

2007-06-13: AOS interview letter received in mail

2007-07-03: EAD card production ordered

2007-07-07: EAD card received! (yay!)

2007-08-23: AOS interview (Documents / Interview review)

2007-08-23: Green card production ordered!!!

I dont know? All I know is that when I 'accidentally' called them on Feb 13 to see what's going on (my husband received 2 letters, 1 saying that we didn't pay the $380 and one saying that we're missing some form), they told me our case was actually COMPLETE on Feb 13. So I asked the guy what's gonna happen now and he said, well, on the 15th of each month, we give out Montreal interview dates to people. HOWEVER, (as of Feb 13), all the dates have been given out for March. So he said for me to call around the 15th of next month (March) to see if I've been assigned with a date. I guess there were a bunch of people that got interview dates for March but they're just not on Visajourney.com???

Thank you everyone for their warm wishes! Once I get my medical done, I'll post a review too! And of course, when I go interview in April, I"ll do the same! I hope the weather's nice so there will be no flight delays or anything like that!! I'm planning to fly in on April 12 and leaving on the 14th! :D

I actually got an interview date for March...it was strange though, I received the letter this past Tuesday and my interview is on March 21st. 1 week notice! I am so glad I had my medical and everything else done in advance!

I'm kind of confused now though - I just called the NVC and they said it was too soon to tell me, that they are scheduling the interviews now. I really hope that they just haven't gotten to mine though! I'm feeling slightly pessimistic about it, it seems like it's too good to be true if we get an interview next month :(

I think the only difference between my case and your case is that mine was completed on Feb 13 and yours on the 20th. I think they are still giving out dates RIGHT NOW (today) as we speak because it's the 15th today. I would call them again late tonight (probably before they close) to ask again... I feel pretty confident that you'll get something tonight! We're only 1 week apart so you should be in the same batch (to be assigned dates on March 15)

Hang in there and call them tonight!

my case was completed february 7th, just called and the guy said they haven't assigned april dates yet. don't they do them in order they receive them? i see others have received their date that are past my february 7th.

hmm :(

You would think they would do the in order, but probably hard to do, as not jst one person does them, probably tossed around the office, used as paper airplanes etc. So if u get susan doing urs and she is a smoker, thus more breaks!! Your fortunate and get Ansy on the job, non smoker, total professional, ur bound to get a quicker interview date!!

Why can't Ansy have mine? lol, flames, you cheered me up a bit :)

I just called (11:30pm), and the guy told me they are running a bit behind this month and are still scheduling them, and I should definitely call back Monday or Tuesday. I'm trying not to let the "definitely"get me too excited. I will update tomorrow night if I can resist that long.
